Laura Matula is a classical and contemporary trained vocalist based in Nashville, TN. She studied vocal performance at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, with Donna McElroy, Jerome Kyles, Anne Peckham, and many other renowned musicians and performers.
Now she performs regularly in professional theater in Nashville, TN as well as in the recording studio both as a solo and background singer and is honored to have been able to perform on some of Nashville’s greatest stages, including the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, TPAC’s Jackson Hall, and the Ryman. Laura also is an instructor with The Theater Bug, located in East Nashville.
As a seasoned performer and vocalist, she understands the importance of having a strong foundation of vocal technique. Her mission as a vocal instructor and performance coach is to not just teach basic singing technique to her students, but to imbue them with a passion to embrace their individual voices as well as prepare them to be able to comfortably maneuver a wide variety of vocal styles and singing/performing scenarios. In addition to understanding the physiology of their instruments, they will focus on healthy vocal production, proper breathing technique, vocal stamina, vocal styles and song study and interpretation. From this foundation they can build their artistry in a healthy and productive manner.
